The Rajasthan government has increased the cost‑of‑living allowance for state employees and pensioners by 3 percentage points to 63%, effective from July 1, 2026, and will also grant a one‑time bonus to about 600,000 eligible staff.
The Rajasthan government announced on Diwali that it would raise the cost‑of‑living allowance (CLA) for state employees and pensioners by 3 percentage points, bringing the total to 63% of basic salary. The increase, which had been pending for several months, will take effect from 1 July 2026.
Under the new scheme, every eligible employee will receive a higher CLA, which is calculated as a percentage of the basic pay. The previous rate of 60% will be replaced by the new 63% figure, providing a modest but meaningful boost to the monthly earnings of public servants.
In addition to the allowance hike, the government will issue a one‑time bonus to roughly 600,000 employees who meet the eligibility criteria. The bonus is intended to offer immediate relief and is expected to be disbursed shortly after the CLA adjustment takes effect.
Officials say the move will help offset rising living costs and improve the financial well‑being of state workers. The decision is part of a broader effort to enhance employee benefits and is expected to be welcomed by the public sector workforce across Rajasthan.
