The driver who struck a Madhya Pradesh police officer with his vehicle has been taken into custody, officials said.
Special Director General of Police Upendra Jain told The Hindu that the police have successfully arrested the driver who ran over a Madhya Pradesh police officer. The arrest, described as a priority, follows a swift investigation after the officer was injured in a vehicular collision.
The incident occurred on a state highway in Madhya Pradesh, where the driver’s vehicle struck the uniformed officer, leading to serious injuries that prompted an immediate police response.
While the driver is now in custody, authorities continue to search for three additional suspects linked to an interstate illicit liquor racket, Jain added, indicating a broader criminal probe underway.
