Delhi's air quality has worsened, with the Air Quality Index climbing to 348 as the proportion of pollution from stubble burning increases.
Delhi's air quality deteriorated on Monday, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) reaching 348, placing the city in the 'very poor' category. The rise is attributed to a surge in stubble burning across northern states, which has contributed a larger share of particulate matter to Delhi's air. Health officials warned residents to limit outdoor activities and advised vulnerable groups to stay indoors. The government has urged farmers to adopt alternative crop residue management practices and is monitoring the situation closely.
