Woman alleges Rs 2.5 lakh jewellery stolen from AC of Anand Vihar‑New Jalpaiguri Express

A woman travelling on the Anand Vihar–New Jalpaiguri Express said that jewellery valued at roughly Rs 2.5 lakh disappeared from her seat in the air‑conditioned coach. She lodged a formal complaint with railway authorities shortly after the incident was noticed. Railway police have opened an investigation and are reviewing CCTV footage from the train to identify any suspect. The express, which links Delhi’s Anand Vihar terminal with New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal, carries a large number of passengers daily, and security officials have been asked to increase vigilance on board. Authorities have urged other travellers to report any suspicious activity and assured that the case will be pursued rigorously.
