West Bengal's Relocated Tigress Returns to Buxa After Sojourn in Assam

A tigress, who was the first to be relocated from West Bengal to another state, was recently captured in Assam after straying from her designated habitat. Wildlife officials confirmed that the animal had wandered into the region, prompting a coordinated response to ensure her safety and return.

The tigress was safely recaptured and transported back to the Buxa Tiger Reserve in West Bengal. This operation highlights the ongoing challenges and successes in managing wildlife corridors and tracking transboundary movements of big cats in the region.

The incident underscores the importance of continuous monitoring and inter-state cooperation in wildlife conservation efforts. Authorities are now monitoring the tigress to ensure she settles back into her original territory without further displacement.
