Uttar Pradesh DEOs Held Accountable for Voter List Errors

In a bid to ensure a clean and accurate voter list for upcoming elections, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa has placed the responsibility of voter list maintenance squarely on the shoulders of district election officers (DEOs). Rinwa has issued directives to DEOs outlining their crucial role in monitoring and coordinating voter list work, emphasizing the need for prompt disposal of applications and accurate electoral profiles. These officers will be held accountable for any delays or lapses in voter list management.

To ensure accountability and transparency, Rinwa has also announced the implementation of regular review meetings. These meetings will focus on addressing pending cases, improving complaint response times, and fostering a collaborative approach to voter list management. The aim is to create a robust system that minimizes errors and ensures every eligible voter is accurately registered.
