Udaipur authorities have announced that vehicles will be barred from entering Jagdish Chowk during Anant Chaturdashi processions to ensure smooth movement of devotees.

Udaipur city officials have issued a directive that all motorised vehicles will be prohibited from entering Jagdish Chowk on the day of Anant Chaturdashi, a major Hindu festival celebrated by thousands of devotees. The restriction is aimed at preventing congestion and ensuring the safety of the large crowds expected to gather for the procession.

The ban will be enforced from early morning until the conclusion of the festival’s main rituals. Pedestrians, rickshaws, and non-motorised transport will be allowed to pass through the area, while alternative routes have been designated for commuters and emergency services.

Law enforcement agencies will monitor the traffic flow and enforce penalties for any violations. Residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly and use the temporary detours announced by the municipal corporation.

The decision follows a review of last year’s traffic incidents during the festival, where heavy vehicle presence had led to bottlenecks and safety concerns. City officials hope that the new measures will provide a smoother and safer experience for all participants.
