The India Meteorological Department has raised an orange alert for heavy rainfall across eastern Madhya Pradesh.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert, signalling the likelihood of heavy rainfall in the eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh. An orange alert is the second‑highest warning level, indicating that the weather could cause significant inconvenience and potential disruption.
Meteorologists expect the rain bands to move across the region over the next 24 to 48 hours, with intensity that may lead to waterlogging in low‑lying areas. The department has advised local authorities to monitor water levels and prepare for possible road closures.
Residents are urged to stay updated through official bulletins, avoid unnecessary travel during peak downpours, and take precautionary measures to protect property and livestock. Emergency services remain on standby to respond to any incidents arising from the forecasted weather.
