Tihar Jail: Delhi Prisons Tighten Security After Decades of Escape Attempts

Tihar Jail in Delhi has a long history of security challenges, with records showing that inmates have managed to escape from the facility since 1965. This recurring issue has prompted the Delhi prison administration to reassess its containment strategies over the decades.

In response to these historical incidents, authorities have been working on enhancing the physical and procedural security of the prison. The focus remains on closing loopholes that have previously allowed inmates to break out, ensuring that the facility remains secure.

The prison management is currently employing a combination of surveillance and strict protocols to monitor inmate movements. These measures are designed to detect any potential escape attempts in their early stages.

While the specific details of the latest security upgrades are internal, the overarching goal is to prevent any further incidents of unauthorized departures from the high-security facility.
