The carcass of a five-year-old leopard was discovered in the Ghunghuti forest range near Bandhavgarh, prompting an investigation into its suspicious death.
The forest department in Madhya Pradesh has launched an investigation after the carcass of a leopard was found in the Ghunghuti forest range of Umaria district. The animal, estimated to be around five years old, was discovered in the dense forest area adjacent to the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
Initial observations by forest officials suggest that the leopard may have died following a struggle with a tiger, although this hypothesis has not been confirmed. The discovery has raised concerns among conservationists regarding the safety of other large cats in the region.
The forest administration has expressed concern over the incident and is currently examining the cause of death to rule out any human interference or poaching activities. No further details have been released as the inquiry remains ongoing.
