A massive explosion occurred in Muzaffarpur after a JCB damaged an underground PNG gas pipeline during drainage work, killing one person and setting fire to several vehicles.
A severe industrial accident took place on the Gobar Sahi-Dumri Road in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, when an underground Petroleum Natural Gas (PNG) pipeline was damaged during excavation work. The incident occurred at Sahu Chowk, where a JCB machine was being used for drainage construction. The damage to the pipeline triggered a massive explosion, sending shockwaves through the immediate vicinity.
The blast resulted in the death of one individual, while several others sustained injuries. The force of the explosion and the subsequent fire engulfed multiple vehicles, including a Thar SUV, reducing them to ashes. The fire spread rapidly to nearby structures, causing significant damage to local houses and infrastructure.
Local authorities and emergency services rushed to the scene to extinguish the flames and rescue the injured. The incident has raised serious concerns regarding safety protocols during construction work near critical utility infrastructure. Investigations into the cause of the pipeline damage and the failure of safety checks are underway.
