Rumours suggest that Ranbir Kapoor could replace Arun Govil as Lord Ram, potentially ending Govil's nearly four-decade portrayal.
In recent reports, Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has been linked to a new adaptation of the Ramayana that could see him portray Lord Ram, a role long held by veteran actor Arun Govil.
Govil first embodied the deity in the 1988 television series, which ran for 39 years and became a cultural touchstone for generations of viewers.
If Kapoor takes on the role, it would mark a significant shift in how the epic is presented to contemporary audiences, potentially attracting a younger demographic.
While production details remain unconfirmed, industry insiders say the project is in early stages and could redefine the portrayal of Ram in Indian media.
