The Rajasthan government has issued new guidelines to curb pollution, restricting fireworks to three hours daily in five NCR districts and banning sales of products without QR codes.

The Rajasthan government has introduced stringent new guidelines to manage air pollution during the Diwali festival. The primary focus of the directive is to limit the duration of fireworks usage in areas that fall under the National Capital Region (NCR) influence.

Under the new rules, residents in five specific districts of Rajasthan that are part of the NCR will be permitted to set off green fireworks for only three hours each day. This restriction applies for two days during the festival period, aiming to reduce the cumulative impact of smoke and particulate matter in the region.

Furthermore, the administration has tightened regulations on the sale of fireworks. The sale of any firecrackers that do not bear a valid QR code has been explicitly banned. Additionally, online sales of these products have been prohibited to ensure better control over the distribution and quality of the items being sold.

These measures are part of a broader effort by the state to balance cultural celebrations with environmental health concerns. Authorities have emphasized that compliance with these time limits and product standards is mandatory to maintain air quality during the festive season.
