Patna authorities have intensified security measures across 98 ghats ahead of the Chhath festival, with officials inspecting sites and marking hazardous areas in red attire.
Patna’s municipal authorities have stepped up security arrangements ahead of the Chhath festival, covering all 98 ghats along the riverfront. The district magistrate, senior superintendent of police and municipal commissioner conducted a joint inspection of the ghats to assess safety protocols.
During the visit, officials identified several spots that pose a risk to devotees and marked them with red clothing to alert visitors. The aim is to prevent overcrowding and ensure orderly conduct of the festival rituals.
The city’s police and municipal teams are coordinating to deploy additional personnel, set up crowd control barriers, and provide medical assistance at key points. Residents and pilgrims are advised to follow the guidelines issued by the authorities.
Patna’s administration has also announced a communication plan to inform the public about safe routes and restricted areas during the festival period.
The measures come as the city prepares to host millions of devotees who gather to perform the Chhath puja on the banks of the Ganges and its tributaries.
