The Rajasthan government has sanctioned a detailed investigation into IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal, accused of misusing his position to benefit GoYal Fashion and purchasing 20 villas in Ananta Resort through relatives.

The Rajasthan government has approved a comprehensive inquiry into IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal following allegations that he abused his official position to give preferential treatment to GoYal Fashion and to acquire 20 villas in Ananta Resort under the names of his relatives.

According to the allegations, Agarwal allegedly used his influence to secure contracts for GoYal Fashion, a local apparel firm, and facilitated the purchase of luxury villas in the resort area without proper disclosure. The 20 villas were reportedly bought in the names of family members, raising questions about the legality of the transactions.

The state cabinet, after reviewing the complaints, has directed the Rajasthan Police and the Department of Revenue to conduct a thorough investigation. The inquiry will focus on the procurement process, the financial records of the villas, and any potential breach of the IAS code of conduct.

Officials have stated that the investigation will be carried out transparently and that any findings will be reported to the public. The case is expected to set a precedent for accountability among senior bureaucrats in the state.
