On Karwa Chauth, the Maha Kaleshwar deity in Ujjain was decorated with bhang, moon motifs, and Rudraksha leaves, drawing large crowds for the Bhasm Aarti.

Ujjain: In a unique ritual observed on the occasion of Karwa Chauth, the presiding deity of the Maha Kaleshwar temple, Baba Mahakal, was adorned with bhang, moon motifs, and leaves inscribed with the name of Lord Ram. This special decoration is a traditional practice associated with the festival in the holy city.

The deity was also crowned with a silver mukut (crown) as part of the ceremonial preparations. The Bhasm Aarti, a significant evening ritual, commenced at 4:00 AM, marking the start of the devotional activities for the day.

A large number of devotees gathered at the temple premises to witness the divine darshan and participate in the aarti. The atmosphere remained solemn and festive as thousands of pilgrims sought blessings from the Jyotirlinga.
