A cyberattack using LockBit ransomware targeted the CCTNS systems of Ayodhya Nagar and Shahpura police stations in Bhopal. The systems have been restored, and an advisory has been issued for network security.

Two police stations in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, fell victim to a cyberattack involving LockBit ransomware. The incident affected the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) at the Ayodhya Nagar and Shahpura police stations.

According to reports, the malware locked the data within the systems, disrupting access to sensitive information. Authorities confirmed that the systems have since been restored to normal functionality.

In response to the breach, the MP-SERT (State Emergency Response Team) has issued a security advisory. The directive aims to strengthen the protection of the police network against similar future cyber threats.

The incident highlights the growing vulnerability of critical infrastructure to sophisticated ransomware attacks, prompting immediate technical and security interventions by local authorities.
