The Kerala Vigilance Department has started inspections in 78 offices of 16 welfare fund boards under the state’s Department of Labour, the vigilance director said.

The Vigilance Department of Kerala announced the commencement of a systematic inspection across welfare fund boards that operate under the state’s Department of Labour. The drive targets a total of 78 offices spread among 16 distinct boards that manage various employee welfare schemes.
According to the vigilance director, teams of investigators have been deployed to each office to verify compliance with financial and administrative norms. The inspections are being carried out simultaneously to ensure uniformity and to detect any irregularities in fund disbursement or record‑keeping.
The department emphasized that the exercise is part of its routine oversight function aimed at safeguarding public resources and enhancing transparency in welfare administration. Officials expect the inspections to be completed within the stipulated timeframe, after which a detailed report will be submitted to the state government.
While no specific violations have been reported so far, the vigilance agency has warned that any non‑compliance discovered will be dealt with strictly, in line with existing anti‑corruption statutes.
