The state’s weather department placed six districts under a yellow alert as heavy rain is expected, prompting officials to review possible school and college closures.
The Kerala weather department has issued a yellow alert for six districts as forecasts predict moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days. A yellow alert signals that rain intensity could lead to waterlogging and localized disruptions, and residents are advised to stay prepared.
Authorities have cautioned that the situation may affect daily activities, especially in low‑lying areas, and have urged the public to follow safety guidelines.
Education officials have been instructed to monitor the weather closely and may announce holidays for schools and colleges if conditions deteriorate. Parents and students are asked to keep an eye on official notifications.
The alert will be reviewed periodically, and any escalation to a higher warning level will be communicated promptly.
