As Karwa Chauth is observed today, moonrise timings vary across Rajasthan, with Dholpur expected to see the moon first and Jaipur at 8:23 PM.
Karwa Chauth, one of the most significant fasting festivals for married women, is being observed across India today. As devotees prepare for the ritual of sighting the moon to break their fast, astronomical data indicates that the moon may appear later than usual in several parts of the country.
In the state of Rajasthan, the timing of the moonrise varies significantly from city to city. According to reports, Dholpur is expected to be among the first locations in the region to witness the moonrise. This early visibility allows devotees in that area to complete their rituals sooner than those in other cities.
For residents of the state capital, Jaipur, the moon is scheduled to appear at 8:23 PM. This specific timing is crucial for families observing the festival, as the sighting of the moon marks the end of the day-long fast without food or water. Devotees are advised to check local astronomical charts for precise timings in their respective areas to ensure they do not miss the auspicious moment.
