Women observing Karwa Chauth in Madhya Pradesh are awaiting the moonrise, with Jabalpur expected to see it first at 8:12 PM, followed by Indore at 8:33 PM.
Women across Madhya Pradesh observing the Karwa Chauth fast are eagerly awaiting the moonrise to break their day-long abstinence from food and water. The occasion is dedicated to praying for the long life and well-being of their husbands.
According to astronomical estimates, the moon will first appear in the sky over Jabalpur at 8:12 PM. This marks the earliest moonrise time among major cities in the state for this year's festival.
In Indore, the moon is expected to rise slightly later, at 8:33 PM. Devotees in these cities will perform the Karwa Pooja and exchange gifts after sighting the moon and offering water to it.
The precise timing of the moonrise is crucial for the ritual, as the fast is traditionally broken only after the moon has been seen and worshipped.
