Tej Pratap Yadav, leader of the Janata Dal (JJD), has called for reinforced security measures, warning that his guards could be overwhelmed by growing fan numbers after his recent reality‑TV appearance.
Tej Pratap Yadav, the chief of the Janata Dal (JJD), said on Thursday that he needs stronger security arrangements following his appearance on a popular reality television program. He said the show has boosted his visibility and attracted larger crowds of supporters wherever he travels.
The politician cautioned that the current security detail could be swamped by the influx of fans, and even risk having the government‑issued firearm carried by the guard seized. He urged the authorities to review the deployment of personnel and consider additional measures to prevent any breach.
Officials have not yet confirmed whether the request will lead to an immediate change in his protection protocol. Yadav’s statement underscores the challenges political figures face when public popularity spikes, especially in the context of large, enthusiastic gatherings.
