India's Shreyas Iyer admitted that the team's bowling performance was inadequate, leading to a heavy 87-run loss in the fourth T20I match.
Shreyas Iyer, the captain of the Indian cricket team, expressed his disappointment following a significant 87-run defeat in the fourth T20I of the series. In a post-match assessment, Iyer identified the team's bowling performance as the primary factor behind the heavy loss.
The Indian captain stated that the bowlers fell short of expectations, failing to restrict the opposition's scoring effectively. This acknowledgment highlights the gap between the team's target and their actual bowling output during the crucial stages of the game.
While the batting side may have contributed to the chase, Iyer's comments place the emphasis squarely on the fielding unit's inability to create pressure. The 87-run margin indicates a comprehensive performance by the opposing team, which overwhelmed the Indian attack.
This defeat adds pressure on the Indian squad to rectify their bowling strategies in the remaining matches of the series. Fans and analysts will now be watching closely to see if the team can bounce back with improved fielding and wicket-taking abilities.
