Passengers from Indore face full trains and crowded buses on the Diwali holiday as they rush to reach family, prompting some to seek tickets in other cities.
Indore commuters are experiencing severe overcrowding on trains heading to Mumbai and Delhi during the Diwali holiday, as families rush to return home. All seats on the scheduled services have been booked, leaving many passengers to travel in standing positions.
The surge in demand has also strained the city’s bus network, with several routes operating at maximum capacity. Passengers report long queues at ticket counters and limited availability of confirmed tickets.
In response to the shortage, a number of travelers are turning to trains from other nearby cities, hoping to secure confirmed seats for the festive season. Railway officials have urged passengers to book tickets well in advance to avoid last‑minute congestion.
