INDIA bloc says nation united in protests demanding CEC impeachment today

The INDIA bloc, a coalition of opposition parties, issued a statement asserting that protests have been coordinated nationwide to demand the impeachment of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). The alliance said that the demonstrations, which began earlier this week, reflect a broad consensus among various political groups and civil society organisations. According to the bloc, the pressure on the Election Commission is intended to compel the CEC to step down, citing concerns over the conduct of recent electoral processes. The statement emphasized that the movement is peaceful and that the demand for impeachment will be presented to the appropriate parliamentary committee today. No official response from the Election Commission has been reported yet.
