IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert for Multiple States on November 5

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a heavy rainfall alert for a number of states ahead of November 5, citing the likelihood of intense precipitation across the region. The warning follows the department’s routine monitoring of monsoon remnants that are expected to move north‑eastward, bringing substantial moisture to affected areas. IMD’s forecast indicates that rainfall could be widespread, with some locations likely to experience prolonged downpours that may lead to waterlogging and localized flooding. Authorities in the notified states have been advised to activate emergency response teams, clear drainage channels, and keep residents informed through local media. The department has urged the public to remain vigilant, avoid unnecessary travel in flood‑prone zones, and follow any instructions issued by local officials as the situation develops.
