Australian all‑rounder Glen Maxwell has confirmed his retirement from international cricket, prompting former captain Aaron Finch to praise him as one of the most explosive and innovative players of his generation.
Glen Maxwell has announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a career that saw him become one of Australia’s most dynamic all‑rounders.
The decision came after a series of statements from Maxwell, who has been a key contributor with both bat and ball for the national side.
Former captain Aaron Finch praised Maxwell, calling him "the most explosive and innovative player of his generation" and noting that he had never had a better teammate or friend.
Maxwell’s exit leaves a noticeable gap in Australia’s lineup, as the team looks to fill the void left by a player who consistently delivered under pressure.
