In Darbhanga's graduation election, 32 candidates were eliminated during the second preference count, leaving eight contenders. BJP candidate Sarvesh Kumar currently leads by 1,700 votes.

The counting process for the Darbhanga Graduation Election has entered a critical phase as the tally of second preferences continues. During this stage of the vote count, 32 candidates were eliminated from the race, narrowing the field significantly. Consequently, the final decision on the winner will now be determined among the remaining eight candidates.

As per the latest available figures, Sarvesh Kumar, a candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is currently in the lead. He holds an advantage of 1,700 votes over the nearest rival in the ongoing count. The election officials are proceeding with the verification of these second-preference votes to finalize the outcome.

The delay in the counting process has triggered political reactions in the region. RJD MLA Alok Mehta has issued a strong warning, threatening to launch a major agitation if the delays persist. His statement highlights the tension surrounding the transparency and speed of the election result announcement in Darbhanga.
