The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has recorded a significant electoral victory in the recent 2026 MLC elections, securing a complete sweep of all seats in the Karnataka Legislative Council. This outcome marks a decisive consolidation of the party's presence in the state's upper house.
In a parallel development, the BJP also performed strongly in Uttar Pradesh, where it won five by-elections. The party's success in both states highlights its sustained political momentum across key northern and southern regions of India.
The results indicate a strong voter mandate for the BJP in these specific contests, reinforcing its position as a dominant force in the respective state legislatures. No other major party managed to secure a significant share of the seats in these particular elections.
