The Indian National Congress has accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party of normalising Chinese border transgressions in Arunachal Pradesh, demanding a stronger response to the incursions.
The Congress party has formally accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of normalising Chinese border transgressions along the Arunachal Pradesh frontier. In a statement released by the party’s state unit, leaders said that repeated incursions by Chinese troops have been treated as routine by the ruling government.
The BJP has repeatedly defended its approach, arguing that diplomatic engagement and confidence‑building measures are the best way to manage the border dispute. However, Congress officials claim that such policies have emboldened China to continue its incursions.
Security analysts warn that a perceived normalization could undermine India’s strategic posture in the region, especially after several incidents where Chinese soldiers crossed the Line of Actual Control.
The central government has not yet responded to the accusation, but officials have reiterated their commitment to maintaining sovereignty and strengthening border infrastructure. The issue remains a key point of contention between the two major political parties.
