A student at Mount Carmel Deemed-to-be University in Bengaluru has been barred from future examinations after being caught using high-tech smart glasses to cheat during a test.

A student at Mount Carmel Deemed-to-be University in Bengaluru has been debarred from appearing in future examinations following an incident of academic dishonesty. The student was caught using a pair of smart glasses, valued at approximately Rs 34,000, to gain an unfair advantage during an exam.

The incident came to light when an invigilator noticed the student wearing unusually oversized spectacles. Suspicious of the equipment, the invigilator conducted a close inspection of the glasses. Upon examination, it was confirmed that the eyewear contained embedded technology capable of facilitating cheating.

Following the discovery, the invigilator immediately reported the matter to the university authorities. The administration took strict disciplinary action against the student, barring them from sitting in subsequent exams. However, the student has been granted the option to attempt these exams at a later date, subject to the university's regulations.

This case highlights the increasing use of advanced technology in academic fraud and the vigilance of exam supervisors in detecting such devices.
