The Rajasthan High Court has rejected a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) challenging the appointment of Dr. Alok Tripathi as Vice-Chancellor of Sardar Patel University of Police and Criminal Justice, imposing a fine of one lakh rupees on the petitioner.

The Rajasthan High Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Assistant Professor Vijay Singh Sheron, who had challenged the appointment of Dr. Alok Tripathi as the Vice-Chancellor of the Sardar Patel University of Police and Criminal Justice (SPPU).

In its order, the court found the petition to be meritless and imposed a penalty of one lakh rupees on the petitioner. This decision effectively upholds the validity of Dr. Tripathi's appointment to the prestigious law enforcement university.

The ruling highlights the judiciary's stance against frivolous litigation that seeks to disrupt administrative appointments without substantial legal grounds. The fine serves as a deterrent against misuse of the judicial process for personal or political gains.

Dr. Alok Tripathi will continue to serve as the Vice-Chancellor of SPPU, ensuring the smooth functioning of the institution which plays a crucial role in training police personnel and studying criminal justice in India.
