The Chinese travel show 'Charming Beijing' has begun airing on national television networks in Pakistan and Brunei, according to the International Web Portal of Beijing.

The International Web Portal of Beijing announced that the travel documentary series "Charming Beijing" will now be broadcast on national television channels in Pakistan and Brunei. The series, which showcases the city’s historic sites, modern attractions and cultural heritage, is expected to attract viewers interested in Chinese tourism and culture. Both Pakistani and Bruneian broadcasters have secured rights to air the show, with the first episode slated to premiere next week. The move is part of Beijing’s broader cultural outreach to strengthen ties with South Asian and Southeast Asian audiences.
The series features guided tours of iconic landmarks such as the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Summer Palace, as well as lesser‑known neighborhoods that highlight everyday life in the capital. Each episode blends scenic footage with interviews from local experts and visitors.
Viewers in Pakistan and Brunei will be able to watch the show in both Hindi and English subtitles, according to the portal. The broadcasters have also announced plans to air the series on their online platforms to reach a wider audience.
The launch follows a growing trend of Chinese cultural programming being syndicated in foreign markets, reflecting Beijing’s efforts to promote its soft power abroad.
