An ASI in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended for the third time following allegations of abusive behavior and a drunken brawl with tribal villagers during a government outreach program.
An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh has been suspended from duty for the third time. The disciplinary action was taken after allegations emerged that the officer engaged in abusive behavior and physical altercation with tribal villagers.
The incident reportedly occurred during a 'Chief Minister Jan Vishwas Abhiyan' program, a government initiative aimed at building trust with the public. According to reports, the ASI was accused of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Villagers alleged that the officer started a dispute while intoxicated, resorted to abusing them, and attempted to snatch a chicken from them. These accusations of misconduct led to immediate suspension proceedings by the local police administration.
This is not the first instance of trouble for the officer, as this marks his third suspension. The police have initiated further inquiry into the allegations of law and order violation and abuse of authority during a public event.
