A 4‑km bridge linking the ISKCON temple area with Sarkhej in Ahmedabad is scheduled to open on 9 November, aiming to relieve congestion for about 200,000 daily commuters.

A 4‑kilometre bridge connecting the ISKCON temple precinct with the Sarkhej suburb of Ahmedabad is set to open on 9 November. The structure, which spans the Sabarmati River, is expected to streamline traffic flow between the two busy areas.

Officials say the new link will reduce travel time for roughly 200,000 motorists who currently navigate congested routes to reach the temple and surrounding commercial zones. The bridge is part of a broader effort by the Gujarat government to improve regional connectivity.

Construction was completed last year under a public‑private partnership, and the project has received approvals from state and central authorities. The bridge will integrate with existing roadways, providing a direct route that bypasses several bottlenecks.

The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9 November, with local officials and residents expected to attend. The new link is anticipated to ease daily commutes and support the growing influx of visitors to the ISKCON complex.
