Uttarakhand Budget Session Opens Amidst Protests

The Uttarakhand Budget Session began today in Gairsain, the state's temporary capital. However, the proceedings were met with protests from both the Congress and the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD). The Congress and UKD raised various grievances and demanded the government address them before proceeding with the budget session. Police had to use water cannons to disperse the protesters, who gathered near the assembly building.
