U.P. Election Officer Apologizes for Social Media Tone

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer, has issued an apology for the tone and language used in his recent social media posts. The apology comes after AAP leader Sanjay Singh criticized the officer's responses to questions regarding discrepancies in the voter list for the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council election. Singh had questioned how the name 'Ramhit Yadav' had been altered to 'Ram ne Yadav ko Maara' on the voter list. The Chief Electoral Officer acknowledged that his responses had not been 'the kind of communication expected from an official handle'.
