Police in Ujjain seized firecrackers worth approximately 10 lakh rupees from an unlicensed home warehouse operated by two brothers who sold goods via social media.
Ujjain police have dismantled an illegal firecracker storage unit operating out of a residential home in the city. The operation targeted two brothers who were found to be running an unlicensed warehouse of fireworks, selling their products primarily through social media platforms.
The investigation began when officers noticed promotional posts for firecrackers online. Acting on the information, police officials called the number provided in the advertisement, posing as potential buyers to verify the location and authenticity of the business.
After confirming the address through the call, a raid was conducted at the residence. During the search, authorities seized a large quantity of firecrackers valued at approximately 10 lakh rupees. The stock was found stored inside the house without any valid government license.
The two brothers were taken into custody for violating regulations regarding the storage and sale of hazardous materials. The seized firecrackers have been impounded, and further legal action is being initiated against the accused for operating an illegal business.
