Tripura Distributes Keys to 278 Flats in Lighthouse Housing Scheme

The Tripura government has completed a key milestone in its affordable housing drive by handing over keys to 278 newly constructed flats under the Lighthouse Housing Project. The ceremony, held at the project’s main office in Agartala, saw the Chief Minister and Housing Minister present, along with representatives from the Housing Development Board.\n\nThe flats, located across several residential colonies, were built to meet the needs of low‑income families. Eligible families were selected through a transparent application process that considered income, family size and existing housing conditions.\n\nA total of 278 families will now receive their new homes, with the government announcing that the remaining 500 flats will be ready by the end of the year. The project, which began in 2021, aims to provide 1,000 affordable homes to the residents of Tripura.\n\nThe handover ceremony underscored the state’s commitment to improving living standards and reducing the housing deficit in the region.
