The Tamil Nadu government has permitted theatres to screen new Tamil films up to six times a day for the first week of their release to boost box office collections.
The Tamil Nadu government has issued a directive allowing cinema halls to schedule up to six screenings per day for newly released Tamil films. This policy is applicable specifically during the first week of a film's theatrical run.
The move aims to maximize audience reach and support the local film industry by increasing the availability of show timings for new releases. By permitting a higher frequency of shows, the administration seeks to enhance box office performance for Tamil-language cinema.
Theatres in the state are expected to adjust their booking systems to accommodate this increased schedule for the initial seven days. This measure is part of broader efforts to strengthen the regional entertainment sector.
