The Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister Vijay, has reinstated morning shows at 6 AM exclusively for Tamil-language films to boost local cinema attendance.
The government of Tamil Nadu, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vijay, has taken a significant step to support the state's film industry by reviving the 6 AM show slots for Tamil-language movies. This policy move aims to encourage early morning viewership and provide a dedicated time slot for local cinema enthusiasts.
The decision reflects the administration's commitment to promoting Tamil culture and ensuring that regional films receive adequate screen time in multiplexes and single-screen theatres across the state. By bringing back these early morning slots, the government seeks to address concerns raised by filmmakers regarding the dominance of non-Tamil content during prime hours.
Industry stakeholders have generally welcomed the initiative, viewing it as a positive gesture towards sustaining the local film ecosystem. The move is expected to influence booking patterns and help Tamil films compete more effectively in the market. No specific financial incentives or additional regulations were detailed in the immediate announcement, focusing primarily on the restoration of the morning schedule.
