Former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond criticised India’s Jasprit Bumrah, saying the pacer is selective about the games he plays.
Former New Zealand quick Shane Bond has publicly accused Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah of being selective about the fixtures he participates in. Bond, speaking to The Times of India, said Bumrah appears to be "picking and choosing" matches rather than committing to every series.
Bumrah, who has been a cornerstone of India's pace attack, has recently missed several games due to injury management and workload concerns. Bond’s remarks suggest that the Indian star’s limited appearances are being viewed as a personal choice rather than a strategic decision by the team management.
The comment has sparked debate among cricket analysts and fans, with some defending Bumrah’s need for rest and others echoing Bond’s frustration. No official response from the Board of Control for Cricket in India or Bumrah’s camp has been reported so far.
