Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials in Mughar, Bihar, have seized 2,400 packets of counterfeit capstan cigarettes and arrested two smugglers who were transporting the goods to Delhi.
Mughar, Bihar: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has successfully intercepted a significant consignment of counterfeit cigarettes at Jamalpur railway station. The CIB (Central Investigation Bureau) team of the RPF seized 2,400 packets of fake 'capstan' brand cigarettes that were being transported from Mughar to Delhi.
According to the investigation, the smugglers intended to pass off these counterfeit packs as genuine products in the Delhi market. The RPF team acted swiftly upon identifying the suspicious consignment, leading to the immediate arrest of two individuals involved in the smuggling operation.
The seized contraband has been impounded by the authorities. The police are currently conducting a detailed inquiry to trace the supply chain, aiming to identify the manufacturers, suppliers, and the end-buyers of these fake cigarettes. Further action is expected as the investigation continues.
