The body of 20-year-old Agniveer Samudra Singh Gurjar, hailing from Alwar, Rajasthan, was recovered on Wednesday. He had gone missing on August 14 following a cloudburst in the Pashupani area of Anini, located in the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The recovery of his remains marks the end of an 80-day search operation. The young soldier was serving in the region when the natural disaster struck, leading to his disappearance. Authorities confirmed the identification of the body after extensive efforts in the difficult terrain.
Tragically, the incident occurred shortly after the Agniveer had promised to return home for Raksha Bandhan. His family had been eagerly awaiting his return, making the news of his death particularly devastating for his loved ones in Rajasthan.
