Samir Khan, a worker at a local medical store in Sikri district, Rajasthan, was in the middle of recharging his mobile phone on Wednesday when he received an unexpected message from his bank.
The alert claimed that an amount of one lakh crore rupees had been blocked in his account, a figure that is astronomically high and far beyond any typical personal balance.
Khan, who has no known ties to large financial transactions, immediately checked his account and found no such activity, leading him to suspect a possible scam or technical glitch.
He reported the incident to the bank’s customer service and is awaiting clarification, while the bank has yet to issue an official statement regarding the message.
