Police in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, have arrested a travel agency operator for defrauding four unemployed youth of ₹28.90 lakh under the false promise of employment in Malaysia.
The Kotwali Police in Dungarpur, Rajasthan, has arrested Hiralal Patel, the owner of a local travel agency, for orchestrating a significant financial fraud. The accused was caught after allegedly exploiting the aspirations of four unemployed young men from the district.
According to the police, Patel lured the victims by promising them lucrative job opportunities in Malaysia. He convinced the youth that paying a substantial fee would secure their visas and employment, promising them a life of financial stability abroad.
The four victims, who were eager to find work, handed over a total of ₹28.90 lakh to the travel agent. However, after receiving the money, Patel failed to fulfill his promises, leaving the young men without jobs or their savings.
Upon realizing they had been deceived, the victims filed a complaint with the Kotwali Police. Following an investigation, the authorities tracked down Patel and took him into custody. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code related to cheating and criminal breach of trust.
