In a pre‑Diwali crackdown, Rajasthan’s Food Safety Department seized 600 kg of tainted mava and 45 kg of expired vegetable ghee in Dholpur district.
The Rajasthan Food Safety Department conducted a raid in the Maniyan area of Dholpur district on Thursday, targeting food adulteration before the Diwali celebrations.
Investigators seized approximately 600 kg of mava that had a foul odor and was deemed unsafe for consumption. In addition, 45 kg of vegetable ghee that had passed its expiry date was also confiscated.
The seized items were destroyed on the spot to prevent any risk to public health. Authorities said the operation was part of a broader effort to curb food fraud and ensure safe products reach consumers during the festive season.
The Food Safety Department urged vendors to comply with safety norms and warned that further violations would lead to stricter penalties.
