Heavy rains in Delhi have caused waterlogging and turned Ram Lila Maidan into a muddy mess, disrupting preparations for an upcoming Congress party rally.
Preparations for a Congress party rally scheduled at Ram Lila Maidan in Delhi have been significantly disrupted by continuous rainfall over the past two days. The heavy downpours have left the venue in a state of disarray, with significant waterlogging reported in various sections of the ground.
The once-prepared stage area and surrounding grounds have been transformed into a muddy expanse, posing logistical challenges for the organizing committee. The accumulation of water and mud has made the terrain difficult to navigate, affecting the setup of equipment and seating arrangements.
In response to the deteriorating conditions, municipal employees have been deployed to the site to manage drainage and clear the accumulated water. Efforts are underway to restore the maidan to a usable condition before the event commences.
The incident highlights the vulnerability of large-scale outdoor political events in the capital to sudden weather changes, forcing organizers to adapt their plans amidst the ongoing monsoon spells.
