Punjab police have uncovered a smuggling network linked to Pakistani operatives in Amritsar, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals.
Punjab police forces have successfully dismantled a criminal module in Amritsar that was found to have links with Pakistani smugglers. The operation, aimed at curbing cross-border illicit activities, led to the apprehension of eight suspects.
The arrests were made following a series of intelligence inputs and surveillance operations conducted by the local law enforcement agencies in the border region. The seized material and the statements of the arrested individuals are expected to provide further insights into the scale of the smuggling network.
Authorities have stated that the module was actively involved in facilitating the movement of contraband across the international border. The case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to trace other potential associates of the group.
This crackdown highlights the ongoing efforts by Indian security forces to maintain strict control over the border areas and prevent the infiltration of illegal goods and activities from across the line of control.
