A recent inspection of hotels and restaurants in Patna, Bihar, uncovered serious hygiene violations, including the storage of vegetarian and non-vegetable items in the same refrigerator and general filth, leading to certification failures.
The ongoing inspection drive targeting hotels and restaurants in Patna, the capital of Bihar, has revealed alarming lapses in food safety and hygiene standards. Authorities have noted that the current state of several establishments is both surprising and concerning for public health.
During the checks, inspectors found critical violations in food storage practices. In some cases, vegetarian and non-vegetable food items were being stored together in the same refrigerator, a practice that poses a significant risk of cross-contamination. This breach of basic food safety protocols was identified as a major issue in the audit.
Furthermore, the inspections highlighted poor sanitary conditions within these establishments. Reports indicate that general filth was prevalent in certain areas, undermining the overall cleanliness required for food service businesses. These findings have resulted in the failure of hygiene certifications for the affected venues.
The authorities have emphasized the need for strict adherence to food safety guidelines to protect consumers. The inspection process is continuing at an accelerated pace to ensure that all food service providers in Patna meet the necessary health and hygiene standards.
